Historic District Walking Tour

This will be an approximately two hour walking tour that will cover the South section of the Sand Point Naval Air Station Historic District – including administrative buildings, housing, the fire and gas stations, officers quarters, several historic trees, the world flight monument and one of the old hangars.

As you take in the Art Deco and Colonial Revival buildings of the former Naval Air Station, your tour guide will guide you through the rich history of Sand Point from its pre-contact uses by the Duwamish through its role in early aviation and military history.

By the end, we hope you’ll come away with an understanding of why Sand Point Naval Air Station Historic District boasts federal, state and local historic designations.
